Born in San Francisco, 1983

​

​From a very young age I knew that I was not funny.  In fact, my mother consistently reminded me that I didn't know how to tell a joke properly, "Carrie, if you have to explain a joke, it isn't funny."  ​I still traversed along trying in any way to mask this horrible affliction of mine.  Fortunately, my aunt is a photographer and showed me the magic  and skill of the photo.  Being able to capture an instant of time and share it forever is such an intriguing idea that I had to pursue it further.  I've been very lucky in my life to be afforded numerous opportunities to travel, including a 2 year teaching contract in South Korea.  ​

Upon returning to the States in San Diego for graduate school, I have decided to stay in one place and develop my profession, in both editorial and event photography.  

I look forward to any chance I can get to pick up my camera,  share my work, and avoid telling jokes at all costs.
